I am very lucky to have a good friend who has an apartment in Cyprus which she lets my wife and I rent, and so I have been able to visit this lovely island over the past few years. For me it was a totally new landscape with a different colour palette including the vibrant Mediterranean colours.

We have been fortunate to stay for 3-4 weeks and so have had the time to explore the historical and cultural sights that are on offer in abundance The historical past and also recent changes in Cyprus in the Turkish and Cypriot areas have given me inspiration in my paintings and sculpture.

Visiting the island generally in the spring time has given me the opportunity to paint the rugged landscapes, large sunsets and also the quaint harbours and fishing boats that are in such abundance.

Deserted and abandoned Turkish villages also provide artistic inspiration.
